Overview

A pitch job aimed at promoting Ithala Bank and its commitment to providing banking services to historically marginalized groups. With a huge illiterate elderly population, we decided to focus on ‘hands’ as a primary communication device. Honouring the many ways they support, nurture, give direction, and, ultimately help heal.

This creative is old (like really old)… a fabulous friend suggested cutting it (she’s normally right).
But its my one pitch that got away. After hours spent in Home Affairs queues, swapping stories and sharing pens (with those who tragically still sign with an ‘X)‘, I believe more than ever that helping hands are essential.

As tacky as it sounds to bring in the marketing speak… having lived in Durban (#Kaizer Chiefs vs. Pirates) I can’t help but smile at the possibility of ☝️ Ithala foam hands at Soccer matches.

More joy is needed #Laduma 🙌

This creative wasn’t chosen but I think it would have has some great stand out in amongst the corporate banking images at the time.
